Soldier classes are a concept first introduced in Modern Combat 5: Blackout.

Blackout features 10 different soldier classes, each featuring unique strengths and weaknesses. The first 5 classes (Assault, Heavy, Recon, Sniper, and Support) are available to players by default, while the remaining 5 (Bounty Hunter, Sapper, X1-Morph, Kommander, and Marauder) must be unlocked in-game via Credits.

Each soldier class has access to its own category of primary weapons and secondary weapons, as well as a selection of grenades. (e.x. The Assault class has access to assault rifles as its primary weapon, and pistols as its secondary weapon). In addition, each class has access to unique Skills which can be purchased and upgraded with Soldier Points (SP), along with a handful of unique Armors and Armor Cores which can be equipped exclusively by that class.

Players should take the time to learn the ins-and-outs of each class, which will allow them to find a class which best suits their play-style, as well as be aware of what to expect from enemies when engaging the different classes in battle.

Multiplayer "tier list"

The following a "tier list" of classes ranked based on overall viability in high-league multiplayer gameplay - however, effectiveness will vary significantly based on the class-skills weapons, Armor, and Armor Cores the player has equipped, as well as the game mode - and is not "1-size fits all" . (This list presumes the player is using highest-end skills, weapons, and equipment available to each class).
